Following a review of nominations received from Camden County Bar members, the CCBA’s Committee on Professionalism and Board of Trustees are pleased to name Gary W. Boguski the 2019 Camden County Harvey M. Mitnick Professional Lawyer of the Year.
Camden County’s Professional Lawyer Award was named by the trustees in memory of past CCBA President Harvey M. Mitnick who passed away in 2014. Harvey was the 1998 Camden County Professional Lawyer of the Year.
Originally a sole practitioner, Boguski has partnered for the last 30 years with Michael A. Taylor at the law firm of Taylor & Boguski in Mt. Laurel. He concentrates his practice in criminal defense and municipal court defense work throughout the State, but primarily in Camden and Burlington Counties. Additional practice areas include Workers’ Compensation, Personal Injury and Social Security Disability.
A graduate of Cherry Hill High School West, he was a member of the National Honor Society. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center.
Since 1990, he has served as President of the Board of Trustees for South Jersey Legal Services, and has devoted considerable time to fundraising efforts for charitable organizations, including the Camden County Bar Foundation where he served as vice president for several years and as president in 2015. Gary also served as President of the Camden County Bar Association in its 2013-2014 year.
Mr. Boguski is admitted to practice in New Jersey, the United States Third Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Gary will receive his award on October 23rd at the NJ Commission on Professionalism in the Law’s annual awards luncheon at the Pines Manor in Edison.
